It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s the holidays! That means it’s time for friends and family to come together to share stories, meals and of course presents! This time of year can be a challenge and so we have compiled a list of a few tips to help you make it through this holiday season!
Tip 1: Remember that your family loves you and they want what is best for you. Don’t read too much into their teasing about you new haircut.
Tip 2: Yes, you’ve been away at Uni and yes you might have put on the Froshie 15 but that just means there is more of you to hug!
Tip 3: Couldn’t wait to open your gifts and you see that your mom bought you clothes this year. You know what that means… you’ll have an AWESOME ensemble by the time you finished opening all your gifts. New Socks, New Shoes, New Styles! Just remember to re-wrap your gifts carefully and act surprised when you open them with your family!
Tip 4: So your cousin is one of the three people that liked the way GOT ended. That’s no reason to flip the table at your gran’s house and cause a scene you’re not Daenerys you don’t need to burn the whole place down.
Tip 5: If you want to make sure you have some awesome leftovers, we suggest filling your ‘to-go’ plate before your dinner plate!
Tip 6: Your Aunt’s new significant other is trying to make a good impression so laugh at the corny jokes, who is it going to hurt?
Tip 7: If you are on the fence about what to get the new love of your life this holiday season, we think shoes are always a good idea. It’s the gift that says, “I want you to look good, but I don’t want to have to be responsible for another garment hanging in your closet that you’ll never wear!”
Tip 8: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, bring your phone charger with you to the family function. You don’t want your battery to die because then you’ll have to talk with your family!
Tip 9: If you decide to play Monopoly with your family, be prepared for hurt feelings and for someone flipping the board when cousin Timmy somehow ends up owning all the railroads, utilities and half the board. (This game is savage!)
Tip 10: Remember it’s important to savor these moments when family gets together. Life is so busy it can be easy to take this for granted, make time to create memories for the future.
